Iron Cupcake London – Christmas

8th December 2009

I had the pleasure of returning home triumphant from last nights Iron Cupcake London competition!!

After being at Animal Aid’s Christmas Fayre on Sunday and baking all day Saturday I didn’t really have the motivation, energy or motivation to come up with a completely new recipe for the Christmas challenge. Instead I decided to take along a batch of my mini caramel mud cunningly renamed ‘I’m Dreaming of a White Chocolate’, topped with vanilla icing and a festive silver ball.

In tune with the Christmas theme, Father Christmas himself was also there, everyone received a present, with vegans thoughtfully provided for. And it was Santa himself who selected my humble little cake as his favourite of the night. If you fancy having a go at them the recipe is here, or alternatively they will be on sale at our stall (next festival is the Reading Eco Fayre on the 19th of December).

January they are taking a break but will be back in February where the theme is ‘LOVE’. Plenty of time for all you vegans to come up with something and come and join in the fun, 4 vegan entries is not enough!!!

For more info, the cake reviews and to see who won go to the official Iron Cupcake London website.
