The Natural Food Show 2011

05 April 2011

Yesterday I attended the natural food show 2011 at Olympia, London.  It is a trade event, not open to the public, so I donned my THV cake hat, packed some empty bags and set off.  Most stall holders are there to promote their produce and find a distributor.

I didn’t travel straight to the show.  First I met up with Mits, we got lunch together.  Then I headed down to Brixton to see Ms Cupcake at her new shop (which is closed on mon/tues).  Btw it looks great down there, check out Mits blog here on the opening.  You have to go!

Then on to Olympia…. after a 20 min wait at Earls Court (Grrrrrrrr).  I actually didn’t get there until nearly 3pm, quite late on day 2 of the show.  I was a little worried that everyone might be packing up and going home already!  Armed with my map I entered and headed to the left hand side or food section.

I was warned in advance that there might not be many free samples. Booooooooooooo.  So imagine my surprise when I ended up with all this……

Free goodies from the natural food show

There is definitely some benefit in attending a showing for the last couple of hours.  With no one wanting to carry all their display items home I eagerly asked and accepted lots of items (as you can see).

There were some familiar faces such as munchy seeds & moo free chocolate and new faces too.  There were lots of gluten free and vegan options available able at 60% of the stalls.

Chocolate supplies
Burgers from Ireland (not yet available in the UK)
New flours for me to bake with!
Grains & chocolate spread (no yet available in UK)

I did actually buy some stuff for a total of £22 with £20 being spent on the teapigs matcha green tea!

I am sooooooo excited there is so much new stuff and I promise to blog on all of it for you!  So there will be more details.  It was well worth carrying all those bags across London for the afternoon!
