Terre a terre

29th August 2013

Terre a terre re-opened in March after a kitchen refurbishment.  Not much has changed in the restaurant, a lick of paint maybe…

It’s been at least a year since my last visit here.  I do enjoy terre a terre food but I wouldn’t eat here every time I come to Brighton.  It is a treat (expensive) and they serve a la carte food so it can be rich….  Also there is so many amazing vegan places to try, as I found out later the same week.

This visit was a belated birthday treat with my mum.  First up was a lovely chilled glass of wine.

I couldn’t choose one main, I didn’t fancy everything on the mezze so we decided to share a selection of starters and sides from the terre a terre menu

Cocky Cauli and Ginger Bhajis
Fritter Zaatar
Peeking Buns (vo)
Smokey Scrunch Chips

It was only after the food arrived that I realised everything we had ordered was deep fried!

Lunch was tasty.  I love tapas style eating.  Food shared is always more fun & you get to try so much more (and this is the real reason I like it!).

But your plate gets a bit messy….

I had been told about the churrosimo before my last visit but Mits and I were too full to try them.  Well this time come full stomach or not I wanted to try them.  Try them we did….

Churrosimo with double dip salt caramel sticky and chocolate dipping sauce…

Wow. OMG.  I will be forcing myself to eat this pudding again!

Good pud.  Double thumbs up.
