9th November 2013
Earlier today Sash and I headed down to rainy Kentish Town. Fat Gay Vegan was (and still is!) hosting a vegan festival on Brecknock Road and it seemed like the perfect excuse to finally make it down to a place I have been wanting to visit for a while now.
Brecknock Road is also the permanent residence of The Third Estate, a vegan shoe store who were launching Wills Shoes
Salvino an Italian deli invoking the spirit of Italy with it’s live music and Bumblebee Natural Foods. They actually have 3 separate shops, the best one is the one on the opposite side of the road to The Third Estate, because it has cake. Obviously. Today they had lots of Manna cakes and other vegan savoury items too. I am not sure if they have this wide a selection of vegan items on normal days but at the back of the shop they also have a fridge with tofu, VBites products etc.
One of the main reasons I have wanted to venture this way for so long is to try out one of the Ethiopian restaurants Queen of Sheba (who’s website doesn’t seem to be working anymore??) and Muya. No time for that today, but we will be back.
The rain seems to have stopped now and there’s still plenty of time to head on down to enjoy the rest of the vegan festival where the fun continues until later tonight.
