Evans & Peel

31st December 2013

I had some fab birthday drinks recently at Evans and Peel, a bar disguised as a 1920s speakeasy disguised as a detective agency.

After entering and putting forward your case for investigation you are led to hidden bar and given case files to peruse.

The complimentary focaccia was really good, and after a drink or two it was decided to really get to grips with the case some more food would be required.

I had called ahead to check if anything vegan was on offer and they assured me their tapas style menu could accommodate. The waitress recommended the artichoke slider without cheese and the generous portion of super chunky wedges. Both made me a very happy birthday girl.

Although it is a themed bar we were the only clientele that took the opportunity to look the part, it was fringed dresses and flapper headdresses ahoy at our table! My girls did me proud and I even managed to get a bow tie on Mr Ikeda.
