Stockholm, Sweden

I was encouraged this year by my yoga buddy MinnaAsan to attend an Annie Carpenter workshop in Stockholm, as if yoga and travel were not enough I was (as always) drawn by the prospect of checking out vegan food in another country.

Loved the Smart Flow workshop which took place over 4 days. Although I have no intentions of becoming an instructor myself I learnt a lot and am hoping to develop a strong self practice at some point. It was also a great pleasure to meet Annie.

Obviously one cannot live on yoga alone, you’ll be pleased to hear I found Stockholm to be pretty vegan friendly.

Our apartment was located to two restaurants I would highly recommend:

In between classes we managed to make it to the Old Town for a few hours.

I got to check out the almost all vegan bakery Sattava Naturbageriet. I only wish I could have got to visit them more than one, they had both savoury items and some amazing looking pastries (why isn’t there somewhere like this in London???). For some inexplicable reason they have one item that has honey in it which is why they are not totally vegan.

We had another tasty dinner at Hermans, which I was pleased to discover is all vegan and not just vegetarian as advertised. This is a buffet type affair with a set price but all you can eat. There is a small barbecue area located outside with additional items and dessert is extra.

Was a fleeting visit but I was so impressed with just how vegan friendly Sweden was and hoping I get to do some more yoga/eating trips around the world again soon.
