Whole Lot of Foods
10th March 2010
Yesterday we had some THV task to take care of in Kensington; check out the new THV cakes stickers aren’t they cute?!
Before we could set off Sash was getting her hair cut in Jigami, so I mooched around Oxford Street building up a hefty appetite. Lucky for us (me particularly) just round the corner was a Ping Pong so before we got down to business we had some yummy dinner.
We both went for my usual: the vegetarian set menu and told the little lady were were vegan. As soon as the new menu comes out I always email them for the vegan options as I like to be prepared for any spontaneous visits, but most things are vegan anyway. I was however a bit confused when the girl came back and told us we couldn’t have the puffs because they have egg as this is always on the list of vegan items they send? Anyway instead we were given the mixed mushroom soup which was lovely!

Spicy vegetable dumpling, spinach and mushroom dumpling, vegetable bun, vegetarian sticky rice, spicy basil and rice noodle
We couldn’t wait around for the dessert which was being swapped from mango pudding to a sorbet but it was more than made up for by the delicious new cocktail – lychee and rose.
Bellies full, samples dropped off we had a look round the Whole Foods in Kensington – that is one mamma of a supermarket! As if by some inbuilt vegan radar, I managed to locate the chocolate counter where there was a selection of 7 vegan chocolates. Ok, 3 probably don’t count as really exciting as they were just plain chocolate in the shape of animals, but the remaining 4 we snapped up! The fondant creams were too sweet for me, but Sash loved them, the nutty choc was definitely my fav (I always forgot to write the names of these things down in my excitement!).
They also have some vegan cakes in the bakery, the chocolate ones look amazing. I also spied a freezer full of Booja Booja ice cream, plus they have all the regular vegan stuff from shampoos to Sheese, definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
