Are your cakes vegan?

Yes!!! Vegan bakers + vegan ingredients = vegan cakes. You do not however have to be vegan to enjoy them 🙂

What do you use instead of eggs?

In non vegan baking eggs bind the ingredients together and sometimes also help it rise. There are various vegan alternatives, some more suitable for certain recipes than others. Typically we might use any of the following: flax seeds, banana, vinegar & baking soda, but we never use egg replacement powders.

Why don’t you use baking cases?

We strive to minimise the waste created by our cakes, no baking cases means there’s nothing to throw away once you’ve devoured your treat, and who cares about a little cake on their fingers – not us!

Why do you use organic and fair trade ingredients?

We believe nothing should have to suffer in the creation of our cakes: animal, vegetable or mineral. By going organic and fair trade we believe we are doing the best we can to work in harmony with nature.

Are your cakes healthy?

Our cakes are just as naughty as non vegan cakes, but we don’t see that as a bad thing! Everyone should have a treat now and again. We do however like to strike a balance, our cupcakes have ‘just enough’ icing and our muffins have the least amount of sugar we can get away with. For healthier versions of our cakes (such as sugar or fat free) keep reading or let us know what you would like and we will certainly try to oblige!

Why don’t your cupcakes have day glo frosting covered in glitter?

Do you REALLY want to eat a neon pink cupcake? Everything we bake is only ever coloured and flavoured with natural ingredients. This is quite limiting when it comes to sprinkles and multi coloured frosting but that just means sometimes we have to be a bit more inventive when it comes to blinging things up!

I think sugar is evil does that mean I can’t eat any of your cakes?

We use unrefined sugar, but if you wish to avoid it all together we can possibly use sugar free alternatives such as agave or sweet Freedom on request.

Do your cakes taste nice?

We don’t like to blow our own trumpet so we’ll let others do it for us! Our testimonials page is currently under construction.

Are your cakes suitable for people with allergies?

Always contact us if you have problems with nuts, dairy or eggs etc. Sometimes ingredients we use may have a cross contamination risk (i.e. have been produced in a factory that handles allergens). If it’s gluten or wheat free you’re after let us know what you’d like and we will see what we can do.
