Review: Detox Your World

16th May 2013

If you follow me on Twitter you will know that I am partial to a green smoothie now and again, but never venture out of the green comfort zone. Same glass, same ingredients everytime. That all changed when Detox Your World kindly sent us some ingredients and recipe to make a *gasp* non green smoothie. (more…)

Review: Ms Cupcake Naughtiest Vegan Cakes in Town

1st May 2013

I have a ritual I go through every time I get a new recipe book. Get myself a nice comfy spot, have some Post-its to hand and then read through the entire book (yes I even read the introductions) immersing myself, marking up must try recipes as I go and getting pretty darn hungry with it. (more…)

Mary Ward Centre Vegetarian Cafe, Russell Square

27th April 2013

TICK TOCK TICK TOCK

That’s the sound in my head right now as the maternity leave clock counts down my return to work. Sunny weather only makes it worse and makes me long to be out and about. My first excursion with Sash since the arrival of Lil Miss would have to be somewhere easyish to get to with a buggy and not too far from home.

The Mary Ward Centre’s vegetarian cafe seemed to be the best choice, just one tube all the way and also right on the doorstep of one of my lunchtime buddies who has been telling me about this place for at least a year! (more…)

Review: Nakd

5th March 2013

Do you remember the first time you had a Nakd bar? It feels like I have been eating them for as long as I have been vegan, and that they have always been a permenant fixture at vegan festivals. (more…)

Ceviche, Soho

9th December 2012

Ceviche is a Peruvian restuarant selling tapas style dishes, apparently there is a Peruvian craze sweeping the ‘foodie/restaurant world’ and I certainly don’t like to miss out on some craze. (more…)

Review: Sarawen perfume

7th December 2012

I discovered Sarawen Perfumes after Sara Kramer mentioned that she had created a fragrance especially for her. My reasons for being excited were two fold, one I had just realised one of my favourite perfumes which I thought was ‘safe’ is actually owned by an evil company so was on the look out for a new vegan perfume. Two, it was love at first sight after visiting the website, perfumes inspired by Sherlock Holmes, Harry Potter, The Hunger Games? It’s a pretty safe assumption I am going to be hers forever more. Review: Fry’s vegetarian chunky strips

25th September 2012

Fry’s products have long been a staple of my freezer so when Sash and I were contacted to review some of their popular items we pratically bit off the hand that was offering them to us. (more…)

Review: MuLondon

3rd September 2012

My sample of MuLondon organic rose moisturiser could not have come at a better time. Hormones have been playing havoc with my skin severly drying it out in patches on my face. My current face cream has been making absolutely no difference so I decided to really put MuLondon to the test.

Tutti Frutti, Covent Garden

22nd July 2012

A couple of months ago Sash and I went on a mini adventure to Covent Garden. Having heard Benito’s Hat had introduced a jalapeno-spiced tofu and sweet potato vegetarian option to their menu we decided to match it up with a visit to Tutti Frutti. (more…)

Little Bird Suppers, Japanese Lunch

16th July 2012

I while back I heard a rumour, a rumour of a Japanese themed supper club. Now I do have quite a thing for all things Japanese but ‘hello home cooked Japanese VEGAN food’, that’s ticking all my boxes! (more…)

Taste of Asia: Thailand

27th June 2012

Yes, we are still travelling across Asia proving how vegan friendly the food is, see here for China and Japan.

This time Sash and I ventured to a new restaurant and a cuisine that I do not get to eat very often as Mr Ikeda is not a fan. When eating Thai you need to watch out for the evil fish sauce which is usually lurking in even vegetable dishes, luckily for us The Mango Tree in Belgravia has a seperate vegetarian and vegan menu. (more…)

Afternoon Tea at The Savoy

19th May 2012

What is it I love about afternoon tea? Delicately flavoured teas, cake stands filled with teeny tiny sandwiches and perfectly formed cakes, the company and without a doubt beautiful buildings steeped in history.

42°Raw, Mayfair

10th May 2012

They aren’t joking, it is only because several vegans wandered around Burlington Gardens trying to find it (in two cases it was actually closed) before me that I managed to find it quite easily. (more…)

Wholefood Heaven, Whitecross Market

20th April 2012

I imagine this guy was Tweeting what he was having for lunch while he was obstructing my shot.

From their uber cute converted Citroen H Van (Luardos also use them) you can have any dish you want as long as it’s a Buddha Bowl. I recognised the name as there is a section about bowls in Isa Chanda’s Appetite for Reduction but before my visit to Wholefood Heaven I was yet to try this retro vegetarian staple. (more…)
